The Environmental Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Olin’s business objectives and is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and add value to meet site objectives and maintain the license to operate. The Environmental Specialist will support both the Plaquemine and St. Gabriel sites.

What You’ll Do

• Implement and continuously improve environmental management systems (work processes, standards, and procedures).
• Understand and own all environmental calculations related to permits, emissions, and releases. The position will have support from engineers and consultants, but the applicant must understand current environmental emissions calculations practices and requirements to be able to work with these teams.
• Manage air, water, and waste regulatory and permit activities and compliance requirements.
• Partner with Production, Engineering and Maintenance on projects, day to day operations, and associated compliance activities.
• Coordinate, implement and optimize EH&S programs across the site and in conjunction with Division or Corporate programs and initiatives.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree*; Engineering or Science discipline preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in an environmental role required.
• Prior chemical or petrochemical industry experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and interface with government and regulatory agencies, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be available for on-call coverage. (e.g. rotating on-call support, fielding plant calls, agency communications and going onsite for support in emergency instances).
• Must be willing and able to travel between our Louisiana Operations sites.
• Prior Olin experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid US driver's license and be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) .
