Title: Electrician

Location:  Roberta, GA

Base Pay Range: $31.00 - $46.00 / hour

Schedule: 5-8's

Focus:  The Electrician will install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and related components for industrial machinery and equipment. Daily duties involve reading and interpreting work orders, technical descriptions and safety manuals -- including NEC and ANSI -- and reading and following electrical code, manuals, schematics and circuit prints. This role may also support process technician and logistics job duties when needed and/or any other tasks deemed necessary by site leadership to support ongoing plant operations.   

Job activities may involve working near low voltage, mobile equipment, moving and rotating equipment, various gases, hazardous chemical, and congested areas.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive industrial electrical work utilizing schematics, hand tools, and test equipment throughout the facility and make repair actions as needed; identify opportunities for equipment repair cost reduction; install power supply wiring and diagnose or troubleshoot malfunctions; maintain, repair or replace faulty components such as relays, switches, motors or fixtures.
• Advise and consult with operators, engineers, factory or manufacturer representatives or Shift Leaders on maintenance problems and projects; prepare maintenance or repair plan, including calculation of material and personnel needs; collaborate with operating personnel on work permits and maintenance/repair activities.  Prepare reports on maintenance and repair activities, including modifications of schematics or blueprints.
• Inspect and maintain transformers, buss bars, circuit breakers; troubleshoot electrical equipment, controls and wiring using test equipment; repair motor, starter and controls, including rewiring; test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and meggers.
• Troubleshoot equipment instrumentation and control systems (DCS/PLC/MLC) and the ladder logic; calibrate, install and maintain a variety of instruments used to measure temperature, level, pressure and flow; install and maintain electrical and pneumatic systems; monitor specific equipment and may monitor and replace pressure relief valves; monitor plant areas and maintain and troubleshoot low voltage sensors.
• Comply with all site Environmental, Health, and Safety policies; participate in safety meetings and training activities; follow established safety and operating procedures and practices; support Root Cause Failure Analysis for I&E components.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ Electrician work experience and demonstrated proficiency as an Electrician (Electrical primary craft); manufacturing plant process maintenance setting preferred.
• Must have experience working with and installing electrical systems that exceed 200 amperes; ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly.
• Experience with various electrical tools and equipment, and a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Requires working knowledge/understanding of electrical schematics, 1-line diagrams, P&IDs, loop sheets, and/or operating manuals and the ability to complete as-builds.
• Ability to define problems and draw conclusions in challenging technical situations up to and including pulling drawings, utilizing electronic document systems, and consulting vendor manuals.
• Ability to diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults.
• Must be able to work call-ins and overtime when support is needed.
• Able to pass a functional physical testing and able to use standard safety equipment; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights; able to work in tight or closed-in spaces and participate on the plant emergency response team.
