About the Position:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 1 year of recent hands-on experience in caring for patients with tracheostomies and mechanical ventilators. This position involves working in a supportive and collaborative environment, delivering high-quality care to medically complex patients .
Responsibilities:- Provide skilled nursing care to patients with tracheostomies and/or ventilators
- Monitor and manage ventilator settings in collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning using sterile technique
- Recognize and respond to trach/vent-related emergencies (e.g., decannulation, vent alarms)
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient status with interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on trach/vent care when applicable
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Current RN license in the state of Minnesota (required)
- BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RECENT experience caring for patients with both Trachs and vents (required)
- Experience in critical care, LTAC, skilled nursing, or home health preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
