Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight
- Manage and supervise nursing staff and other clinical personnel.
- Monitor patient care delivery to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to clinical standards.
- Conduct regular chart reviews and audits.
- Assist with complex patient care situations and provide clinical guidance.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Conduct staff onboarding, training, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Support staffing plans, scheduling, and workload management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional clinical environment.
Care Coordination
- Ensure timely and accurate care planning, documentation, and communication.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team activities, case conferences, and patient follow-ups.
- Work closely with physicians, families, and external partners.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation regulations (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, state board of nursing).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clinical policies, procedures, and training.
Operational Support
- Assist with budgeting, supplies, work processes, and clinical workflows.
- Address patient or family concerns and participate in service recovery.
- Support emergency preparedness and infection control programs.
QualificationsRequired
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience (varies by employer).
- 1–2 years supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of clinical standards, patient care, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Experience in [home health / acute care / outpatient / long-term care] depending on your setting.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and quality improvement practices.
