JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Manager / Lead Engineer supervises engineering activities across all disciplines on a project or designated portions of a project within a global business unit. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating engineering assignments while ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
The role demonstrates technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating multi-discipline engineering work throughout all phases of the project.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineering Manager / Lead Engineer provides leadership and technical direction for engineering activities on complex projects. The role plans, organizes, and directs engineering assignments and ensures proper coordination between disciplines to support successful project execution.
Responsibilities include overseeing engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements, and resolving technical issues in collaboration with project management, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
The position supports project planning activities including development of schedules, resource planning, and progress tracking. The role ensures integration across engineering disciplines and maintains alignment with scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
Additional responsibilities include supporting field engineering, construction, startup, or plant operations as required. The Engineering Manager also supervises and mentors engineering personnel, ensuring effective team performance and adherence to quality expectations.
WORK HOURS:
A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule details will be provided by the client. Overtime may be required to meet project deliverables.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience / Skills:
Minimum ten (10) years of progressive engineering experience
Experience in project design engineering with increasing responsibility, including supervision
Strong technical background in relevant engineering discipline(s)
Experience in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms
Experience may include startup, field engineering, or plant operations
Demonstrated ability to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering assignments
Strong communication and coordination skills across multi-discipline teams
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to lead and manage multiple engineering activities simultaneously
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to support construction, field, or startup activities as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience supporting large EPC projects
Prior experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams
Experience in complex industrial or government project environments
