*CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER II - Four (4) Positions Available

*CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER III - Four (4) Positions Available

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to more experienced construction engineering personnel by performing routine construction engineering assignments at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Assigned to a discipline position within the Construction Management Division in an administrative or technical capacity. Completes assigned tasks under routine supervision and technical directions.

Performs routine construction engineering assignments at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Requires a full working knowledge of construction engineering practices and the exercise of professional judgment within the framework of established guidelines. May have leadership responsibility for less experienced construction engineers. May be specializing in a single field or area, or assuming a lead role in a specific segment of a construction project.

Requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of tasks. Limited exercise of judgments is required on details of work and in making preliminary selection/adaptations of alternatives. Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments of experienced level person. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlates data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

*CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER I -Bachelors degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent. Entry level professional work. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of alternatives.

*CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER II - Position requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in engineering disciplines and 5 years actual work experience and certifications leading to the thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.

*CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER III - Position requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in engineering disciplines, and 10 years actual work experience and certifications leading to the thorough understanding of the knowledge described above or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.
