Bandsaw Technician/Welder
Oleson Saw Technology has been proudly serving the wood industry since 1994. Our services and products are designed around the ever-changing needs of sawmills, chip mills, paper mills, pallet manufacturers and the like.
We are currently looking for a full-time, highly skilled, Bandsaw Technician/Welder to join our team.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Fabricate blades, including welding, grinding, setting, and sharpening to specifications.
- Inspect blades for defects, proper alignment, and tension, using precision measuring tools.
- Set up and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Read work orders for specific, customized, or standard blade orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in the bandsaw production process, maintenance, and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of bandsaws.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to sharping bandsaws.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
