What are the responsibilities and job description for the DISTRICT Intervention Specialist Coordinator (TOSA)_OLSD position at Olentangy Local School District?

There will be multiple Intervention Specialist Coordinator position(s) available for the 2023-2024 school year. We will be hiring two (2) elementary and two (2) secondary Intervention Specialist Coordinators for these Teacher on Special Assignment postions. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio Department of Education.


Description: Support the on-going development and implementation of professional development, curriculum, assessment and instructional programs in the district pertaining to students with disabilities; identify, develop, implement, and evaluate provision of professional development resources to impact district strategic plan. To improve the quality of instruction, teacher performance, and student achievement through professional development and peer assistance. Assist the Pupil Services Assistant Director(s) in working with the Board, administrative team, staff, parents, community groups, and professional organizations. Implement and maintain excellent educational programs to fulfill the mission and vision of the Olentangy Local School District.


Essential functions: ensure the safety of students; prepare clear and timely lesson plans; demonstrate knowledge of subject matter; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program; and, observe ethics of the teaching profession.


Internal candidates
(currently employed by the Olentangy Local School District) must submit an internal online application in Applicant Tracking.


External candidates
must submit an external online application in Applicant Tracking and complete an online Teacher Candidate Assessment. In addition, a letter of interest and current resume must be uploaded within the Attachments section of the application. Applicants may revisit their online application at any time to make necessary additions or changes.


The online Teacher Candidate Assessment is sent via a link under separate email cover. On occasion, the email may end up in junk or spam mail. If so, the link will be titled “Do Not Reply” with the subject “Regarding your Olentangy Local Schools application”. Keep in mind that the assessment is a timed assessment, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time before you begin the process. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed.
