What are the responsibilities and job description for the BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST - ESC position at Olentangy Local School District?
There will be a Behavior Specialist position(s) available within Olentangy Schools for the 2025-2026 school year. Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) and must hold or be eligible for a valid Behavior Analyst Certificate as prescribed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) for the State of Ohio.
The Behavior Specialist helps students learn subject matters and skills that will facilitate maximum learning experiences and contribute to their development as mature, capable and responsible adults; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Contributes to the development of healthy, safe, and caring environment by understanding the emotional and social development of children. Implements behavioral intervention strategies within our building programs, assists in the collection of classroom and building data, monitors, documents, and compiles progress data. Conducts and supports Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), collaborates / creates Behavior Intervention Plans, strategies, and tools to support positive behavioral change / maintenance; and conducts and participates in ongoing training and staff development activities.
