The Director of Finance plays a key leadership role within our vertically integrated cannabis
organization. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring regulatory compliance across HR and corporate policies. Working closely with the executive leadership team, the Director of Finance supports the company’s mission of sustained profitability and operational excellence across cultivation, manufacturing, administration, and retail.
This role reports to the executive team members and collaborates with other directors that oversee Retail cultivation and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance:
• Financial Leadership Support: Oversee financial maintenance and daily financial operations. Provide insights and support to the executive team to meet short and mid-term goals.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process and assist department heads in setting and managing financial plans.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Present key financial data to internal leadership.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow forecasting. Maintain adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including cannabis-specific tax challenges. Work with tax advisors to minimize liabilities.
Compliance:
• HR Compliance: Collaborate with the HR Manager to ensure compliance with labor laws and human capital budgeting.
• Corporate Compliance: Help maintain and enforce corporate policies, procedures, and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Audit & Review: Support operations teams in maintaining regulatory and financial compliance.
Address potential issues proactively.
Board Communications:
• Partner with leadership to communicate financial and compliance matters clearly and effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of finance/accounting experience.
• Prior management experience required.
• Familiarity with regulated industries is a plus.
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
