POSSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a dedicated driver who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment.
As a Driver at Ole & Steen you will be responsible for proper delivery of products from our commissary (located in Maspeth, Queens) to our stores in throughout NYC daily. We deliver fresh to each store two times a day. You will be responsible for reviewing all orders prior to delivery with the commissary leadership team to make sure everything is correct. Along with that you will load an unload the trucks and obtain necessary signatures once the products have been received in the local stores. Once deliveries are complete you will return to the commissary and give management the delivery paperwork to be checked and filed away. You will then prepare for your next delivery.
Drivers are responsible for truck safety and daily maintenance walk-through. During your route you will track temperature logs, daily gas/mileage log and maintain a break log.
This is a customer facing position and you should be courteous, professional, and well spoken.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class driver's license
- Experience driving trucks with air brakes (required)
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Follow thoroughly company procedures according to health and safety standards

Ole & Steen was founded in 1991 by the Danish bakers Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebæk and originally called Lagkagehuset or “The Layer Cake House”. Ole & Steen is pioneer in the resurgence of artisanal and handcrafted baking practices in Denmark. In 2008 the two bakers joined forces and became the organization we know today.
