What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator / Assembler Entry-Level position at Ole Hickory Pits?
Build Something You Can Be Proud Of
Enjoy working with your hands? Want to turn that interest into a career in fabrication and manufacturing? Join Ole Hickory Pits as an entry-level fabricator/assembler and help build barbecue smokers used by restaurants, competition cooks, and backyard pitmasters around the world.
You do not need years of fabrication experience to get started. We are looking for someone who shows up reliably, works safely, takes pride in the details, and wants to learn. Bring a willingness to contribute, ask questions, and build your skills alongside our production team.
Why join our team? Start at $18.00 per hour, work a four-day daytime schedule, and do hands-on work that becomes a finished product you can point to with pride. This position offers a starting point for developing practical skills in measurement, tool use, fabrication, assembly, and quality workmanship.
What You Will Do
· Help fabricate and assemble components for our barbecue smokers.
· Read a tape measure and check measurements for accurate fit and assembly.
· Use hand and power tools safely, following instructions and assigned training.
· Follow written and verbal instructions to complete work accurately and on schedule.
· Check your work, pay attention to fit and finish, and report quality concerns promptly.
· Work with teammates to keep production moving and help complete shared tasks.
· Keep tools, materials, and your work area clean and organized.
· Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
What You Bring
· A genuine interest in learning fabrication and assembly.
· Dependable attendance, punctuality, and availability for the posted day-shift schedule.
· Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurement-related math.
· Attention to detail and a willingness to follow instructions and accept feedback.
· A safety-first approach, respectful communication, and a team-oriented attitude.
· A high school diploma or equivalent.
New to the trade? School shop classes, technical coursework, construction, repair work, or personal hands-on projects can be helpful, but previous professional fabrication experience is not required. Tell us what you have worked on and what you want to learn.
