Overview
As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. You will engage with various accounting software and systems, contributing to the maintenance of our accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounting. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help us uphold compliance with financial regulations while fostering a collaborative environment.
What you'll do
- Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and maintain general ledger accounting entries, including journal entries and account analysis.
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, to manage financial records effectively.
- Participate in budgeting processes and assist with credit analysis as needed.
- Maintain meticulous records of financial transactions, ensuring data entry is precise and efficient using 10-key typing skills.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects.
Basic qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles.
- Excellent math skills with a keen eye for detail in account reconciliation tasks.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with public accounting practices or corporate accounting environments is advantageous.
- Previous experience in accounts payable/receivable roles or related positions is required.
