Part Time Administration & Events Assistant for the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID)POSITION PURPOSE
The Olde Town Arvada BID is seeking a dynamic administration/event/marketing part time assistant to elevate the vibrancy of Olde Town Arvada. This role is perfect for a creative, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
Mission: To preserve, promote, and enhance the vibrancy of Olde Town Arvada BID.
Vision: To create and maintain an always-active, inclusive business district that allows diverse businesses to thrive and provides an authentic, memorable experience for visitors and residents alike.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Production
- Assist in logistics for all Olde Town Arvada events, including permits, vendor coordination, entertainment, staffing, and on-site execution.
- Track event performance metrics and report outcomes to the Olde Town Arvada BID Manager and Board of Directors.
Marketing & Communications
- Help manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn) with engaging content that grows audiences and fosters community interaction.
- Help coordinate email marketing campaigns, press releases, and media outreach.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, city officials, and sponsors.
- Help identify sponsorship opportunities and assist with partnership proposals for events and marketing initiatives. And maintain relationships with collaborative partnerships in the community.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for events.
Administrative & Reporting
- Assist with budget planning and manage expenses related to marketing and events.
- Provide support to the Olde Town Arvada BID Manager in day-to-day operations and special projects.
- Participating and taking notes for committee meetings and board meetings.
- And other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field preferred OR 2 years of professional experience in marketing, event planning, or social media management.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing strategies.
- Willing to learn event managing event logistics, vendors, and budgets.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and community-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other graphic design software a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced office environment with regular event day responsibilities that may include evenings, weekends, and outdoor activity.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs for event setups and materials.
- Around 20 hours per week, some evenings and weekends are needed.
SALARY
- $18 - $25 An Hour
- Commensurate with experience.
