Responsibilities
- Safely operate a straight truck and forklifts, including commercial trucks, to deliver palletized goods across designated routes
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals and pickups
- Load and unload merchandise using proper lifting techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Build strong relationships with clients through professional communication and attentive service
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs and delivery receipts in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales goals
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and adhere to safe driving practices at all times
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) required (Class B)
- Proven experience in commercial driving or route driving, with a strong understanding of traffic laws and DOT regulations
- Basic math skills for calculating pricing, measurements, and inventory counts
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices
- Prior retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product presentation and customer needs
- Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules and paperwork efficiently
