Job Summary
The Irrigation Technician maintains, and repairs irrigation systems by programming controllers, diagnosing and fixing leaks and other problems, and replacing parts. They will conduct regular audits on all properties and record data. This role involves both physical work outdoors and technical tasks like troubleshooting electrical issues and reading blueprints.
Responsibilities also include managing inventory, maintaining equipment, and ensuring workplace safety. Candidate must have experience in operating a wire/valve locator, irrigation clocks, wiring, and irrigation water supply lines installation and repair.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance on residential irrigation systems including fountains and other water features
- Determines wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads
- Maintains a daily log of completed repairs
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties as required
- Must have experience with common wire systems
- Must be able to install and program irrigation clocks/controllers
- Strong attention to detail
- Irrigation certification (preferred)
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent desired
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in irrigation
Core responsibilities
- Installation and repair:
Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including laying pipes, installing sprinkler heads, and repairing or replacing valves and controllers.
- System management:
Program and adjust irrigation timers and controllers for optimal water usage.
- Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and fix problems such as leaks, broken heads, and electrical or plumbing issues with the system.
- System design:
Assist in the design of new irrigation systems, ensuring proper layout and component selection.
- Inventory and equipment:
Manage parts inventory, maintain stock, and care for company tools and equipment.
- Safety:
Ensure all work is performed safely, following all relevant health and safety regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week
