What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenkeeper position at Old Trail Golf Club?
Essential Functions:
1. Operates large mowers, tractors and other light equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Responsible for checking fluid levels before operating any machine.
3. Responsible for reporting any abnormalities discovered while operating machinery to supervisor.
4. Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; wash equipment at the end of each day.
5. Possess keen attention to detail.
6. Pull weeds in all areas.
7. Plant trees, bushes, shrubs, and other plants.
8. Edges, rakes, and maintains sand bunkers.
9. Edges cart paths and sidewalks.
10. Hand raking leaves and other debris.
11. Push mow and weed eat.
12. Apply divot mix to driving range tee and other tees on the golf course.
13. Apply manual irrigation to golf course and residential turf.
14. Clean restrooms, shop area and break room as assigned.
15. Weed eating around trees, bunkers, and cart path curbs.
16. Mow greens with riding greens mower.
17. Perform irrigation and drainage repairs.
18. Pick up grass piles.
19. Lay sod.
20. Mow tees and green approaches with riding mower.
21. Must be able to service the golf course. These duties include: changing green flags, putting cups, moving rope and barricades, and moving tee markers.
22. Must be able to move directional barricades, ropes, and stakes.
23. Must be able to drive turf vehicles and mowers.
24. Blow cart paths with back pack blowers or riding blowers.
25. Helps in project work; assists in the construction and seeding of new greens, tees and fairways.
26. Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
27. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Present a positive, professional image.
· Must be able to drive turf vehicles and mowers.
· Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
· Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
· Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
· Reliable and predictable attendance.
· Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Preferred:
· Possession of a valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles.
· Previous experience and knowledge of grounds work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
· Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
· The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
