Role Description:
Join our team at Old Town Hot Springs as a Climbing Wall Attendant and help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for climbers of all levels. This is a great opportunity for experienced climbers with a passion for teaching and engaging with guests. This role involves supervising climbers, enforcing safety policies, providing basic instruction, and ensuring the climbing wall and equipment are properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and climbing instruction aligned with the mission and core values of Old Town Hot Springs.
- Supervise open climb times, classes, and group rentals at the climbing wall.
- Conduct belay certifications and climbing wall orientations.
- Encourage climbers to develop their climbing technique and physical fitness in a positive and motivating way.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and adherence to all climbing protocols.
- Respond to incidents or emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older (due to safety requirements).
- Proven indoor climbing and belaying experience.
- Ability to climb routes rated 5.6 or higher confidently.
- Previous experience working with children in instructional or recreational settings.
- Strong customer service skills; sales experience a plus.
- Punctual, reliable, and safety conscious.
- High school diploma or equivalent (or working towards).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (can be provided by OTHS upon hire).
- Weekend availability preferred for year-round roles.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb and demonstrate safe climbing practices.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:
Schedule: Part-time position with flexible scheduling. Team members may sign up for shifts that best fit their availability within the following hours:
Monday, Wednesday- Friday (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM), Tuesday (10:00AM-6:00 PM), Saturday & Sunday(9:00AM-8:00PM)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Rate: $17–$19 per hour, based on experience
