As a Title Examiner, you will review title records, analyze chains of title, and prepare accurate title products that support the real estate closing process.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Reviewing and interpreting chains of title and property records
- Examining ownership histories and identifying title issues, restrictions, liens, encumbrances, and other matters affecting title
- Verifying property, ownership, and tax information for completeness and accuracy
- Reviewing legal descriptions, maps, plats, and supporting documentation
- Preparing and issuing preliminary title reports
- Confirming appropriate title search parameters and starter bases
- Ensuring all relevant information is captured and accurately reflected in title products
- Supporting title search operations and workflow as needed
- Maintaining accuracy and production standards while meeting deadlines
- Collaborating with team members and internal stakeholders to support exceptional customer service
- Minimum of 2 years of title industry experience
- Experience examining title records, ownership histories, and chains of title
- Strong understanding of title insurance practices and title examination principles
- Knowledge of legal descriptions, real property records, and real estate documentation
- Ability to analyze and interpret title information accurately and efficiently
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing preliminary title reports
- Knowledge of Florida real estate and title practices
- Experience with title plants and property information databases
- Familiarity with mapped-property searches and direct starter-based examinations
