Regional Vice President – Southeast
Are you a proven leader in the surety industry with extensive surety underwriting experience and a passion for building high-performing teams? Old Republic Surety Company is seeking an accomplished Regional Vice President –Southeast to join our dynamic leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced surety professional ready to take on strategic and operational leadership across a growing, diverse region that includes Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. The selected candidate may reside in any of these states.
As the Regional Vice President, your deep expertise in contract surety underwriting will be at the heart of your success. You will oversee the management of assigned branch offices, providing strong leadership, guidance, and development to branch personnel. You will train and supervise direct reports, uphold our high standards of underwriting and service, and play a critical role in hiring and developing future talent. You will be the go-to leader for complex underwriting decisions, ensuring alignment with Old Republic Surety Company's underwriting philosophy and compliance standards, and providing valuable input to Home Office guidelines.
In partnership with branch leaders, you will coordinate and approve underwriting submissions within your authority limits, recommend authority levels for Bond Managers and Underwriters, and serve as the first point of contact for “over authority” submissions. Your strategic insight will drive the execution of business plans and budgets, focusing on profitability and operational efficiency. You will also manage expenses in collaboration with Bond Managers and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and agency partners to strengthen sales and underwriting performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of direct experience in the surety industry, with a strong background in contract surety underwriting — this is a core requirement for this role.
- Proven leadership and strategic planning skills, with demonstrated success in leading underwriting teams.
- Strong relationship-building skills with brokers, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
