As a Staff Accountant, you’ll help keep reinsurance information organized, current, and consistently accurate. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team, take ownership of meaningful details that keep operations moving, and contribute to a fast-paced environment where your strengths truly shine.
What You’ll Take On
- Update and maintain reinsurance structures for assigned accounts, including new and renewal policies
- Process reinsurance premium transactions, excess losses, and corresponding recovery memos
- Review and reconcile certificates from reinsurers against account summaries, reinsurance structures, and worksheets
- Prepare monthly cession statements, complete expiration packets, and perform general ledger and statistical balancing procedures
- Maintain integrity of reinsurance/accounting systems, files, and records, including Excel spreadsheets, Access databases, and account books
- Produce quarterly management reports and maintain prior year accounting files
- Establish and maintain communication with internal and external contacts, resolving minor accounting and reinsurance issues

- Minimum 1 year of experience in an office or administrative environment, ideally working with data, documents, or financial information
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance — a great bonus, but not required

- Strong organizational skills that help you keep information clean, clear, and consistent
