Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other pets. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both the animals and staff. THIS IS NOT A SEASONAL JOB. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE (EVERY sat/sun) and holidays and weekdays. We start our day at 7am! HIRING ONE ADDITIONAL KENNEL ASST TO JOIN OUR TEAM.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with administering medications when trained.
- Handle animals safely and effectively during playtime, bathing and boarding
- Support the overall operations of the kennel by performing various tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required.
- Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and comfort for the animals.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving supplies.
- Must be able to handle all size dog breeds and able to walk them on a leash outside for playtime/walks/potty area.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Must be a team players and multitask in a busy environment.
- MUST WORK HOLIDAYS/WEEKENDS (SAT AND SUN). WE START OUR DAY AT 7AM.
