Old Rochester Regional School District and Massachusetts Superintendency Union #55 is seeking a school principal for Old Hammondtown Elementary School in the Mattapoisett School District starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Old Hammondtown School serves students in grades 4, 5, & 6 and their families of the Town of Mattapoisett, a seacoast community located in southeastern, Massachusetts.

The Principal of Old Hammondtown Elementary School will be an active member of the leadership team to inspire, create, and support a safe and positive 21st century learning environment.
Furthermore, the Principal of Old Hammondtown Elementary School must have outstanding collaboration and communication skills, a strong knowledge of academic subject matters, and experience in the areas of curriculum and instruction development that will enhance the teaching and learning experience for all.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate administrative leadership and management responsibility for all aspects of school operations.
• Provide leadership for the School Council.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate all building staff members.
• Oversee academic programming and achievement.
• As required, submit a series of goals to the Superintendent of Schools and to the School Committee.
• Assume responsibility for budget planning through coordination with various members of the staff, the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, the Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations, and the Superintendent of Schools.
• Oversee student discipline, establish codes of behavior which shall be made known to the staff, the student body, and the school community.
• Provide leadership in relation to ensuring inclusive special education programming and regulatory implementation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, or designee.
