What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Tree Chipping Crew position at Old Growth Tree Service?
Old Growth Tree Service is looking for someone bilingual in English and Spanish to lead our tree chipping crew and play a critical role helping support county-wide efforts to help mitigate the risk of wildfire.
Each day, you will drive a chip truck and wood chipper through different neighborhoods where you will chip branches, brush, and trees that have been left curbside. You will also use online mapping software to inventory material to be collected, determine resources needed, and build a map of work to be completed.
If you’re new to this kind of work, we’ll train you with the skills and knowledge you need. And most importantly, you’ll be a part of an extraordinary team of individuals who will have your back as you work together to accomplish tasks that others might find daunting or impossible.
In addition to this core responsibility on our chipping crew, you will also be a part of our tree removals and pruning team. Our work ranges from light pruning, to large scale removals of massive trees using cranes; from the valley floor to remote estates nestled high up in majestic aspen groves. You'll also have the opportunity to cross train and work in our Tree/Plant Care department where you'll learn how to help trees thrive despite the many challenges they face from pests, disease and drought.
Your season will start in April and we will keep you busy through December or until the snow flies, intersecting perfectly with winter work at the ski areas.
Pay depends on experience and we offer ample opportunity to increase your wage and grow professionally through in-house and outside training that we will pay for and pay you to complete!
