Assistant Forest School Teacher (Part-Time)
Do you love spending your days outdoors, no matter the season? Are you passionate about supporting young children as they learn through exploration, play, and connection with nature? We're looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Forest School Teacher to join our team at Old Growth Kids this fall.
Position Details
- Schedule: 2–4 days per week, 9:30am-1:30pm
- Pay: $17–$20/hour (depending on experience)
- Duration: September–December 2026, with the potential to continue beyond the Fall session
About the Role
As an Assistant Forest School Teacher, you'll support our lead teacher/s in creating a safe, engaging, and child-led outdoor learning environment. You'll help facilitate nature-based, play-based activities that encourage curiosity and independence, and build meaningful relationships with children and families.
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool or kindergarten-age children is required.
- ECE units or education degree highly recommended but not required
- A passion for Forest School/outdoor education and nature-based learning.
- Excitement and willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Positive, dependable, and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to hike on uneven terrain and assist with setting up and cleaning up outdoor learning spaces.
