We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Old Edwards Inn and Spa. The Pastry Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Pastry Chef in preparing and executing pastries and artisan breads ensuring they meet our high standards for taste, quality, and presentation. The Pastry Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising and training the pastry team, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. In terms of both cuisine and service, our standards are high – and so are those of our guests.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of creative and delicious pastries and breads that complement our cuisine
- Manage the pastry kitchen and supervise the pastry team in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef
- Train and mentor pastry team members to ensure they meet our high standards for quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain proper inventory levels for pastry ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Ensure all pastries, desserts and breads are prepared and served to the highest standards
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, including proper storage ingredients and equipment
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and other team members to create menu items that meet customer needs and expectations
- Stay up to date with new techniques, trends and techniques in pastry and bread preparation
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all team members and work collaboratively to achieve The Old Edwards Hospitality Group standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pastry sous chef in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation techniques as well as a familiarity with baking equipment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move 10-25 regularly and up to 70 lbs., occasionally
Salary : $40,000 - $46,000
