TPI Personal Trainer

Position Summary
The TPI Personal Trainer delivers highly personalized fitness and wellness experiences to Old Edwards Hospitality Group members and guests, with specialized expertise in golf performance through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) methodology.
This position combines exceptional personal training with TPI movement screening, corrective exercise, mobility, strength, conditioning, and golf-specific fitness programming. The TPI Personal Trainer works with individuals of varying ages, abilities, and fitness levels to help them move better, improve performance, reduce physical limitations, and support long-term health and well-being.
As part of OEHG's broader Wellness experience, this role is expected to provide the highly personalized, professional, and intuitive level of service associated with luxury hospitality. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with members and guests while collaborating with fitness, wellness, spa, golf, and other OEHG departments to create an integrated approach to well-being.
Responsibilities
Personal Training & Wellness
- Conduct individualized fitness assessments and consultations to understand each client's goals, abilities, limitations, and overall wellness objectives.
- Design and deliver customized personal training programs incorporating strength, cardiovascular conditioning, mobility, flexibility, balance, stability, and functional movement.
- Provide safe, effective, and engaging one-on-one and small-group training sessions.
- Modify programs appropriately based on individual ability, progress, physical limitations, and established wellness goals.
- Educate clients on proper exercise technique, movement quality, recovery, and sustainable fitness practices.
- Track client progress and adjust programming to continually support results and engagement.
- Maintain appropriate client records and documentation.
TPI & Golf Performance
- Conduct TPI movement and physical screens to identify mobility, stability, strength, balance, and movement characteristics that may influence golf performance.
- Develop individualized golf-fitness programs based on TPI screening results and client goals.
- Help golfers improve mobility, rotational movement, stability, strength, power, balance, and overall physical capacity.
- Educate golfers on the relationship between physical movement and golf performance without moving outside the appropriate scope of a fitness professional.
- Collaborate, when appropriate, with OEHG golf professionals and other departments to provide an integrated approach to golf performance.
- Develop golf-specific fitness programs, workshops, clinics, and experiences for members and guests.
- Stay current with TPI methodology, research, continuing education, and best practices in golf fitness and performance.
Member & Guest Experience
- Create a welcoming, personalized, and professional experience consistent with OEHG's luxury hospitality standards.
- Develop meaningful relationships with members and guests by understanding individual interests, goals, and preferences.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the member and guest wellness experience.
- Provide thoughtful follow-up and encourage appropriate continued participation in fitness and wellness programming.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding member and guest information.
- Serve as an ambassador for OEHG's commitment to wellness and exceptional service.
Wellness Programming & Collaboration
- With the direction from the OEHG Wellness Manager, develop innovative fitness and wellness programming.
- Collaborate with Spa, Fitness, Golf, Food & Beverage, and other departments to support integrated wellness experiences.
- Participate in wellness events, retreats, clinics, member programming, and special experiences.
- Assist in developing seasonal programs designed around the interests of OEHG members and guests.
- Support broader OEHG wellness initiatives focused on fitness, recovery, outdoor recreation, healthy aging, performance, and overall well-being.
- Build awareness of available personal training and TPI services through appropriate member and guest engagement.
Fitness Center Standards & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional training environment.
- Ensure fitness equipment is used properly and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Follow established emergency procedures and OEHG safety standards.
- Maintain current professional certifications, CPR/AED certification, and required continuing education.
- Demonstrate proper care and stewardship of OEHG facilities and equipment.
Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification such as NASM, ACSM, ACE, NSCA, or equivalent.
- TPI Fitness Certification – Level 1 or higher.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of functional movement, strength training, mobility, flexibility, balance, and conditioning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide highly personalized service to a diverse range of members and guests.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, discretion, and commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Preferred
- TPI Fitness Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Sports Performance, or related field.
- Additional certifications or education in corrective exercise, functional movement, mobility, strength and conditioning, active aging, recovery, or nutrition.
- Previous experience working with golfers.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and safely handle fitness equipment consistent with the requirements of the position.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors as programming requires.
Scheduling Requirements
This position requires flexibility based on member and guest demand, including availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and seasonal programming.
