Old Economy Village (OEV) (located 18 miles northwest of Pittsburgh in Ambridge) is a National Historic Landmark that preserves the legacy of the Harmony Society, one of the most successful religious communal groups of the 19th century. What We Offer You:
A part-time opportunity (approximately 40-60 hours/month, with availability for periodic evening and/or weekend work) with variable, on-site hours at least two days/week. Hourly salary of $18.00 per hour worked, based on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conducting site tours for potential clients and managing all steps in the rental process from initial inquiry through completion of the event. Includes coordination with other employees to follow State guidelines and procedures and to prepare the site for the event.
- Suggesting process improvements and creative ideas to promote site rentals and event attendance with the goal of increasing revenue.
- Using technology including MS Word and Excel along with various databases to track and calendar events, publicize OEV on social media, etc.
- Consistently demonstrating customer service and organizational skills, which includes responding to all email or phone inquiries within 72 hours.
- Providing coverage on an as-needed basis for Gift Shop staff, processing sales and assisting with retail-related tasks.
Your Background:
Minimum high school education with customer service experience and a friendly demeanor, with strong verbal and written skills. Prior experience in a nonprofit and retail environment considered pluses. Comfortable leading property tours and becoming knowledgeable about museum collections, exhibits, etc. Experience working as part of a team and coordinating with others. Proficient in Word and Excel and ability to learn additional software and procedures. Work is performed in a retail and historic museum environment and is a combination of sedentary and working indoors, up and down stairs and outdoors, lifting up to 30 pounds and ability to work in a small area (behind counter).
Pay: $18.00 per hour
