Job Description: Under the guidance of the School Age Site Coordinator, the Group Leader helps create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for all children in the program. In this role, you’ll assist with supervising activities, engaging with children, and helping the program run smoothly each day.
The Group Leader plays an important part in bringing the mission and values of the Old Colony YMCA to life by building positive relationships and supporting a welcoming community for everyone involved. This position also follows the employee code of conduct and all required guidelines.
Most importantly, the Group Leader leads by example—encouraging and showing the values of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect in everything they do.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 18 years of age, and have 6 months school age experience.
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
- Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
- Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
- Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
- Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
- Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
- Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker
