Job Developer-Career Specialist (Case Manager)

The Job Developer - Career Specialist will be responsible for providing job development and tracking at the Lawrence Community Justice Support Center (CJSC), a community based program serving male and female adult justice involved individuals with a history of addiction.

Typical job responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for conducting work readiness assessments
• Facilitate groups and/or classes (e.g. resume design, job search, job retention, interview skill, life skills)
• Educate participants about CORI issues
• Networking with a variety of area employers, agencies and career centers to create new employment opportunities.
• Employment verification
• Make necessary referrals to outside agencies or departments as needed
• Participate in weekly Clinical meetings.
• Responsible for maintaining a caseload (Includes but not limited to: Completing monthly assessments in a timely manner, administering the LS/RNR and/or ORAS assessment tools and any other assessment tools that are used within the program).

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor Degree in related field of study; experience in career development preferred.
• Candidates familiar with local employers, agencies, and career centers a benefit.
• Be able to network in the community to create new opportunities for clients.
• Candidate must have good communication skills and computer literacy is a must.
• Local travel is required for meetings and networking and onsite job verification.
• One early evening availability required.
• Open to working with adults with substance use disorders, adults who are justice involved, people who have been impacted by trauma, etc.
• Driver's License required.

There are 18 Community Justice Support Centers (CJSC) across the state with 10 managed by the Old Colony YMCA. Clients attend CJSC to participate in programs designed to improve their lives and avoid further criminal justice involvement. Each CJSC offers about 15 different programs, including cognitive behavioral treatment for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and to improve decision making, employment counseling, and Adult Basic Education, GED/HiSET, and post-secondary preparation.

Pay: $23.50 - $24.00 per hour
