What are the responsibilities and job description for the Male Monitor position at Old Colony Y?
Working as part of a small team, the Monitor will be responsible for the overall security of community based facility serving adult probationers with a history of criminal behavior and addiction.
The Monitor is responsible and accountable for monitoring clients and for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and clients. S/he will ensure that clients enter and exit the building in an appropriate manner and remain in assigned areas. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and collecting urine drug screens from clients.
Job Function:
- Supervise and monitor clients in all phases of daily routines including break periods.
- Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups
- Take accurate attendance of all clients.
- Maintain accurate communications log entries.
- Collection and documentation of urine screens
- Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
- Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and de-escalating clients.
- Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
- Use company van to transport participants to and from center.
- Maintain work schedule as directed.
Education/Experience/Physical Requirements
- Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum of two years experience working in the criminal justice field.
- Must be able to work some evenings and cover additional shifts as needed
- Must have a valid Drivers License
- Must have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of the center.Benefits:
