Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling inbound and outbound shipments, operating heavy equipment safely, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes, materials handling, and safety protocols to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, , pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders using warehouse management systems
- Ensure accurate order picking and inventory control in compliance with shipping & receiving procedures
- Load and unload trucks safely while adhering to OSHA standards
- Perform material handling tasks including heavy lifting and stacking pallets
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisor to optimize storage layouts and workflow processes
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or shipping & receiving roles
- Valid forklift certification with experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Prior experience operating cranes or construction-related heavy machinery is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management
- Warehouse supervisor experience or background is advantageous but not required
