What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Operations Manager position at Old Bay Marina?
Old Bay Marina is a family-owned marina with 50 years of experience on the Chesapeake Bay. We’re looking for a reliable, confident Marina Manager to help run day-to-day operations during the boating season.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position. You’ll be working with boats, customers, and our dock team, not sitting at a desk all day.
What you’ll do
- Oversee daily marina operations and dock activity
- Assist customers in person and over the phone
- Sell marina services (slips, storage, haul-outs, etc.)
- Coordinate with dockhands, mechanics, and vendors
- Help troubleshoot and fix basic marina, electrical, or mechanical issues
- Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-friendly marina environment
What we’re looking for
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Weekends required during boating season
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Boat, marina, dockhand, or marine experience preferred (not required)
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Able to work with a strong-personality, fast-paced family business
We have a very knowledgeable team and will train the right person on the job.
Schedule & Pay
- Full-time during boating season
- Days off: Monday and Tuesday
- Weekends required during boating season
Liveaboard Option
- A liveaboard boat may be provided for on-site living for the right candidate
- Housing arrangement is tied to the position and subject to the marina policies
