Olaria is a new, locally owned retail concept offering artisan ceramic tableware sold by the pound. We work directly with European makers—especially Portugal—to give beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces a second life. Our store blends design, sustainability, and discovery, creating a hands-on shopping experience that’s both fun and approachable.
We’re building a small, supportive team of Olaristas who enjoy helping customers, working with their hands, and contributing to a growing business from the ground up.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing retail role where attitude, dependability, and communication matter more than prior retail experience.
We’re looking for reliable, friendly team members who are comfortable performing a range of tasks, from customer service to inventory handling. If you show up on time, enjoy helping people, and want a stable, respectful workplace, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
· Greet and assist customers in a warm, approachable way
· Explain Olaria’s unique by-the-pound pricing model and product story
· Operate POS system and scale; handle transactions accurately
· Wrap, pack, and handle fragile ceramic items with care
· Restock and merchandise shelves and tables to keep the store looking great
· Receive, unpack, sort, and organize inventory
· Maintain a clean, organized sales floor and back-of-house
· Support opening and closing procedures
· Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team
· Pitch in wherever needed as the business grows
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and punctual

- Clear communicator
- Comfortable standing and moving throughout shifts
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks (customer-facing and behind-the-scenes)
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs
- Minimum of 5 years of retail, hospitality, or service experience required
- Interest in design, food, ceramics, sustainability, or small businesses is a bonus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
