What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver for Elderly position at Oklahoma?
Seeking a hands-on caregiver for my elderly mother in Broken Arrow near 91st and Elm.
PLEASE NOTE: Selected candidate must fill out an application and will become an employee of the state of Oklahoma for this position. THE TOTAL HOURS PER WEEK CURRENTLY NEEDED IS 4-12 HOURS TOTAL. Ideally working in 2-4 hour shifts. All shifts will be between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. No Sundays. Pay is $18-19/hour. Ideally, looking for 2 candidates who could both work about 6-8 hours a week, so that if one needed to skip a week, we would still have someone coming to work. Nonsmoker highly preferred.
Duties include:
-Meal preparation. She prefers home-cooked meals made from scratch, which can be divided and kept in the fridge/freezer until needed. Ideal candidates will have experience cooking from recipes with success.
-General house cleaning/organizing.
-Assistance with bathing.
-Some errands, such as picking up groceries.
-Transport her to/from doctor appointments on occasion.
-Non-smoker.
-Ability to lift up to 20 pounds from the floor. Ability to move and bend freely.
- Ability to push a wheelchair if needed
-She is very sensitive to fragrances and cannot tolerate perfumes of any kind in her home.
Job Types: Part-time, PRN
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
