Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Surgical Services Manager and the Registered Nurse, performs the role of surgical technologist in the operating room and performs patient care activities to assist the RN or physician.
Education
High school Diploma or the equivalent; graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology preferred.
Experience
2-3 years previous experience in at least two specialty areas in surgery preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Surgical Technicians certification preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Effective communication skills; both orally and written
- Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care
- Strong problem solving skills
