What would I do as Plant Manager?
As Plant Manager, you are the Location Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations while helping drive consistency with company-wide standards. This is a “working manager” role that at times, requires working alongside employees in the shop (non-climate controlled), in the yard, and occasionally in the field.
Your responsibilities include:
Operations
- Oversee all daily operations including production, deliveries,and yard organization at your location.
- Supervise the production team each day, leading by example in a non-climate controlled shop.
- Ensure safety, quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Execute and help refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Coordinate with leadership on production schedules to meet demand and delivery timelines.
- Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and material flow.
- Step in and solve problems in real time while identifying root causes and long-term fixes.
- Assign “special projects” to Shop and Drivers, as needed.
- Order concrete based on production plan (point of contact with concrete vendor throughout the day).
- Operate heavy equipment ie forklift, skid steer, gantry cranes to move product, parts and equipment.
Accountability
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable all Drivers and Shop workers at your location.
- Set clear expectations and maintain high standards for performance and behavior.
- Conduct regular check-ins, coaching, and performance conversations with team members.
- Promote ownership, responsibility, and pride in work across the team.
- Assist with hiring and training new employees.
Systems and Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement; implement practical solutions.
- Use technology to track performance and guide decisions.
- Work with leadership to align your shop with company-wide systems and processes.

- Foster a positive, team-first culture aligned with company values.
