ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Provide outstanding member service and contribute to overall team effort.
- Fully understand and actively assist members in using credit union products and services.
- Receive checking and savings deposits - verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.
- Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.
- Process savings withdrawals; cash checks - verify endorsement, receive proper identification and ensure validity.
- Answer basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and member privacy policies.
- Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks, and cash out US Savings Bonds.
- Accept loan payments - verify payment amount and loan status, issue receipts.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
- Maintain and regularly balance cash and other negotiable instruments, ensure teller station is properly supplied.
- Refer members to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
- Refer additional credit union products as appropriate.
- Perform routine support functions as assigned; including verifications, scanning, filing, reports, and returned mail.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding member transactions and information.
- Ensure actions are compliant with all credit union policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Customer service experience
- Multi-lingual capabilities in Spanish preferred
