About Us

Oklahoma Korean First United Methodist Church is a welcoming Korean-American congregation dedicated to Christ-centered worship and community fellowship. We are seeking a skilled and dependable church pianist to lead and enrich our congregational worship through music.

Key Responsibilities

• Sunday Worship Service: Provide piano accompaniment for the main Sunday worship service at 11:00 AM (prelude, hymns, offertory, responsive praise, and postlude).
• Pre-Service Rehearsal: Arrive early on Sunday mornings to coordinate and briefly rehearse with the worship team/choir and pastor.
• Special Services: Accompany approximately 4 special services per year, held early Sunday morning (e.g., Easter Sunrise, special seasonal services).
• Communication: Coordinate musical selections in advance with church leadership.

Qualifications & Preferences

• Proven experience as a church pianist, accompanist, or equivalent formal keyboard training.
• Strong hymn-playing and sight-reading skills, with the ability to accompany congregational singing.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Korean culture and Korean language proficiency (spoken or reading) is preferred, as our services and worship resources are primarily in Korean. We do have a translator during the service.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a heart for collaborative ministry.

Compensation & Schedule

• Monthly Honorarium: $500 per month
• Time Commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours on Sunday mornings (plus preparation and occasional special early services).
