Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- A master’s degree and three years of professional experience in social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, early childhood development and education, guidance and counseling, nursing, intellectual disability, probation and parole, public administration, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation;
- OR an equivalent combination and experience, substituting 1 additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.
*Professional experience in the fields listed must have been the primary job responsibility to be considered as qualifying. Incidental performance of professional work in any area(s) shall not be considered.
Job Duties
- Position serves as an OKDHS Court Representative at the Juvenile Justice Center, coordinating services between Child Welfare and the Juvenile Court System.
- Engage with assigned caseworkers prior to hearings to discuss each case, gathering all information needed, and ensure assigned caseworkers are informed of their court dates.
- Confirm timely submission of all required court reports, documents, and information relevant to each family’s case.
- Present DHS’s position in court, based on the assigned social work team’s recommendations and clinical decisions.
- Communicate and engage with families prior to their court hearings as necessary.
- Court Representatives will be assigned to a specific courtroom and will be present for all hearings involving children in OKDHS custody.
Preference Statement
Preference may be given to applicants who Child Welfare experience.
