Child Care Licensing Specialist IV - H24D
Annual Salary: $51,418.56/per year Full State Employee Benefits
Travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS 3 years of child care licensing experience;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS 4 years of child care licensing experience, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Child Care Licensing;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in any field, plus 5 years of experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Child Care Licensing.
Preference Statement
- Preference may be given to applicants who have experience in early childhood and/or child development background.
- Bilingual with written and conversational skills in Spanish.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct staff supervision of six licensing staff; hold individual conferences with staff, review case records and correspondence to verify compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Give final approval for permit and license issuance or make a recommendation to the State Office on license denial or revocation.
- This position must interview and hire child care licensing specialists and maintain personnel records. Will attend all meetings, required training and workshops.
