Responsibilities
The Barista is primarily responsible for preparing coffee drinks and food. Running the cash register for the coffee shop.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares coffee shop for serving beverage and food items
- Prepares all product necessary for opening of business day
- Follows correct procedures for brewing of all teas and coffees and follows guidelines concerning shelf life
- Sets up all food items in accordance to schedule
- Sets up deli and pastry case
- Displays food items in an attractive manner. Replenishes and maintains quantities during serving hours
- Sets up cash register and counts the cash drawer
- Serves customers during business hours
- Serves all beverages and foods according to recipes and demonstrates product knowledge
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of food service and coffee shop experience preferred.
