Works under close supervision while learning and applying foundational principles of power generation process engineering. Supports the process engineering program by assisting with plant performance initiatives, equipment assessments, and the development of analytical models.
* Entry level professional. Performs assignments with standardized processes. Works under direct supervision. Resolves questions and problems within established standards and guidelines. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
- Learn tools and techniques to identify generation plant system or process inconsistencies and/or anomalies.
- Assist with monitoring the execution of corrective activities and assessment of final results.
- Work in a team environment to improve generating unit reliability and performance.
- Participate in project design phase reviews as an observer.
- Understand and utilize process engineering documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Assist with providing technical support to operations and maintenance teams on asset performance issues.
- Learn how plant reliability and performance impact customers and business goals.
- All other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE.
* May require travel.
* May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
* May be required to work non-standard hours, holidays, and schedules.
* May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
* Member will not be required to drive in order to perform their job duties.
* The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the process engineering field.
- Basic understanding of analytical and problem-solving principles.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks independently with guidance and collaborate effectively in teams.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Basic understanding of technical documentation.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and adhere to policies, procedures and work requirements.
- Continuously seeking to improve and develop new skills and knowledge.
- Basic technical writing ability (ability to prepare basic technical notes, summaries, and documentation).
