At the Children's Recovery Center we are looking for a Recreational Activities Specialist that would be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and conducting client therapy programs and instructing or supervising clients in an inpatient behavioral health facility.

Job Type/Salary:
- Full-time position
- Recreational Activities Specialist I Salary: $42,000.00 ($20.19/hr.) plus the benefit allowance
- Recreational Activities Specialist II Salary: $44,000.00 ($21.15/hr.) plus the benefit allowance
- Recreational Activities Specialist III Salary: $46,500.00 ($22.36/hr.) plus the benefit allowance
- Must be 21 years of age or older, due to DHS requirements
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Recreational Activities Specialist I - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of experience in instructing/directing a community service or recreational program; or in closely related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Recreational Activities Specialist II - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related field; or a bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in instructing/directing a community service or recreational program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Recreational Activities Specialist III - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelors degree in physical education or in a closely related field and two years of experience in group physical education recreational therapy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Upon a condition offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 65 pounds and being able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
