POSITION PURPOSE: Under supervision, the Community Outreach Director performs a variety of duties in support of District One’s internal and external community relations and outreach. The position is responsible for providing information and assistance to staff, county departments, governmental entities, and constituents regarding the role of county government and available county services. May identify, develop, and recommend areas for new or improved services. In the performance of duties, will coordinate and attend events on behalf of District One acting as liaison between departmental staff and the public. Provides feedback and reporting to District One management staff.

- Maintains regular attendance, including a minimum of 40 hours per week; consistently on time.
- Maintains and participates as a team member of the Oklahoma County District One Office.
- The work schedule will be set by the County Commissioner and/or designee and may vary as needs of the business varies.
- Attend various county meetings as directed.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Interacts with the public and staff on a daily basis.
- Maintain files and electronic data in an organized manner.
- Responds to constituent service contacts.
- Assists in facilitating meetings and events for the Commissioner and staff.
- May aid in research as assigned.
- Responsible for Community Outreach weekly report, which provides a high-level overview regarding weekly activities.
- Proactively attends community events to identify concerns or issues within the community; provides information on county services to attendees.
- Acts as liaison between elected official and community residents concerned with issues impacting District One.
- May coordinate with community collaborators on joint projects.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key community leaders in furtherance of Commissioner’s goals and objectives.
- May attend meetings with District Staff, homeowner’s associations, neighborhood associations, other community groups or individuals and organizations as required. Meetings may include some nights and weekend work.
- Assists in the development of District Newsletter.
- Provides backup support to the front desk.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Three (3) years of relevant customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants are permitted to substitute one year of related higher education for two years of experience.
Education Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education.
