Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Journeyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately execute system installations and repairs.
- Perform service calls as a service technician to diagnose issues and provide timely solutions for HVAC/R equipment failures.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair electrical components and mechanical parts.
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and ammonia refrigeration setups.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for each service visit.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC Journeyman or similar field service technician with a strong mechanical background.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics, and system troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration and HVAC/R systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately; familiarity with HVAC control systems is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of plumbing, boiler operation, appliance repair, welding, and property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a
driver vehicle if required. - Certification or licensing as an HVAC Journeyman; relevant certifications in refrigeration or ammonia systems are advantageous.
