TEACHER/FAMILY ADVOCATE
Oroville Head Start

About the position: Provides a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children (ages 3-5) have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills in a classroom environment. This position will also travel to homes of enrolled families on a monthly basis to provide additional educational services and support to families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Plan and implement activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Conduct monthly home visits to provide families with educational guidance, resources, and support.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress and share insights with families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to ensure consistent educational experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's development and classroom activities.

Education and Experience:

  • AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field for qualified hire, or enrolled in ECE program as a provisional hire
  • Valid WA State Driver’s License
  • Bilingual/Spanish, preferred

Details:

  • Full-time 40hr per week
  • 43 Weeks per year (one week off at spring break and two at winter break, and some weeks in the summer)
  • Wage $22.66 per hour for qualified applicant
