Bus Driver – Okanogan
OCCDA has 60 year legacy as an early learning program that strives to make a difference in our community by supporting children and families. About the position: The Bus Driver position will transport children to and from our center (ages 3-5) and may cover in classroom as needed. The Bus Driver provides safe bus transportation for children, assuring that each child is picked up and delivered on schedule. Cooperate with teachers to promote the health and education of each child and to work with center staff to assure a smooth flow of written communication between families and centers.
Key Responsibiltiies:
- Safely transport children ages 3-5 to and from the center according to assigned routes and schedules
- Ensure proper child safety procedures are followed, including seat belts, head counts, and supervision during loading/unloading
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe bus environment
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with families during pick-up and drop-off
- Follow all center policies, state regulations, and safety guidelines related to transportation and childcare
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Valid WA State Class C CDL with a school bus and passenger endorsement
Details:
- Full-time 30hrs/week
- 41 Weeks per year (one week off at spring break and two at winter break with eight weeks off during summer)
- Wage $22.00 per hour
