What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do

The Warehouse Runner at OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark plays a vital support role within the Purchasing and Storeroom operation, working alongside the Receiving Clerk to ensure supplies and products are delivered accurately and efficiently to departments throughout the resort. This is a fast-moving, physically active position that keeps the operation flowing behind the scenes, making sure every department has what they need, when they need it. The Warehouse Runner is a key part of a team that takes pride in keeping things organized, moving, and running smoothly. Performance Standards

  • Customer Service: Support a smooth and timely delivery experience for every department in the resort. Treat all vendor personnel, department contacts, and resort associates with dignity and respect. Respond to department requests promptly and professionally, and communicate any delays or issues right away.
  • People: Reflect OKANA's people-first values in every interaction. Partner with the Receiving Clerk and department teams to keep operations running without interruption. Approach every task with a team-first mindset, stepping in to help wherever needed.
  • Work Habits: Consistently meet OKANA's standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality. Return from breaks on time, give advance notice when absence is anticipated, and take on work assignments with a willing, professional attitude.
  • Personal Development: Stay open to learning new skills and cross-training in other areas of the purchasing and storeroom operation. Ask questions when unsure, solve routine problems independently, and look for ways to improve efficiency in daily delivery and stocking tasks.
  • Safety and Security: Stay alert to potential hazards throughout the storeroom, loading dock, and resort delivery routes. Follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures. Report unsafe conditions or security concerns to management immediately. Use proper lifting techniques and equipment at all times to prevent injuries.

Essential Functions

  • Constantly. Transport supplies, products, and deliveries from the storeroom and receiving area to departments throughout the resort in a timely and organized manner.
  • Constantly. Maintain a neat, organized, and clean storeroom and loading dock area.
  • Constantly. Follow proper product rotation procedures to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Frequently. Assist the Receiving Clerk in inspecting incoming deliveries for order accuracy and product quality.
  • Frequently. Stage and sort incoming deliveries by department for efficient distribution.
  • Frequently. Communicate with department contacts to coordinate delivery timing and confirm receipt of supplies.
  • Frequently. Restock storeroom shelves with new product and ensure items are stored correctly and safely.
  • Frequently. Record basic inventory movement and assist in maintaining accurate storeroom records.
  • Frequently. Keep work areas, carts, and equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Frequently. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Occasionally. Assist in conducting routine inventory counts as directed.
  • Occasionally. Communicate with vendor personnel regarding deliveries as needed.
  • Occasionally. Assist the Receiving Clerk with data entry and procurement system updates.
  • Occasionally. Attend required meetings.
  • Occasionally. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, storeroom, delivery, or hospitality support role is a plus.
  • Basic computer proficiency to support receiving and inventory tracking processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple delivery priorities across a large resort property.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands of the role throughout each shift.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: Rarely. Brief administrative or check-in tasks.
  • Standing/Walking: Constantly. Walking in and around the storeroom, loading dock, and throughout the resort during deliveries.
  • Crouching (Bend at Knees): Frequently. Picking up deliveries, moving boxes, and rotating inventory.
  • Kneeling/Crawling: Occasionally. Accessing low storage areas and cleaning.
  • Stooping (Bend at Waist): Frequently. Handling and organizing product and supplies.
  • Twisting (Knees/Waist/Neck): Frequently. Conducting inventory, rotating stock, and maneuvering through storeroom and delivery areas.
  • Climbing: Occasionally. Step ladders to reach inventory stored on upper shelves.
  • Balancing: Frequently. Transporting loaded carts, trays, and supply boxes throughout the resort.
  • Reaching (Overhead/Extension): Frequently. Stocking inventory and retrieving supplies from shelving.
  • Handling/Grasping: Constantly. Moving boxes, supply cases, carts, and delivery items.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequently. Hand trucks, carts, and supply cases. Average weight: 35 lbs. Maximum weight: 75 lbs.
