The Host plays a vital role in the ongoing success of our service team at Okaloosa.
Okaloosa is one of the most unique restaurant and community gathering destinations in the Monroe area. It is a place designed for families, adults, teens, and anyone looking for more than just a meal. Okaloosa is an experience. It has quickly become a place the community is buzzing about, and for good reason.
Our brand draws inspiration from late 1970s and early 1980s Florida, while our food reflects Gulf Coast flavors mixed with the comfort of classic American dinner tables. Every area of the property offers guests something different. The main dining room is a bungalow-style space with roll-up glass doors and windows on three sides, allowing guests to feel connected to the energy of the entire property. Inside, the design is playful, retro, and memorable, creating an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
Outside, the experience continues. Our front lawn is a picnic-style gathering space where guests can relax with friends, bring their dog, enjoy a Bushwacker or a Grouper Sandwich, and unwind over games of cornhole. Our courtyard offers an oasis-like setting with hand-painted murals, tropical plants, and a tiki-style bar that transports guests to a completely different place. Our side lawn is designed with kids and teens in mind, featuring a secure play area and a vintage aluminum trailer converted into an arcade with hundreds of popular games from the past several decades.
As a Host at Okaloosa, you are often the first and last impression our guests will have. That means this role is far more than greeting people at the door. A great host sets the tone, manages the flow of the restaurant, creates warmth and hospitality from the first interaction, and helps ensure every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and excited to be here.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, polished, organized, and able to stay calm under pressure. The right person will have a natural ability to connect with people, manage wait times honestly and graciously, communicate clearly with the service team, and help create a smooth and memorable guest experience.
